Yet another WIP

Well, I’ve definitely been posting more frequently lately. I think I’m enamored with all of my projects at the moment, so must… gush… more!

I finished my glove prototype last night. So I felt it was a good time to cast on for a new project:

What you are looking at, my friends, is the humble beginning of Lotus Blossom. Or part of it, anyway.

The yarn I’m using for this (Knitpicks’ Shimmer, which was originally for my mystery stole) is seriously seriously contrasty. The colors started to pool in a not-so-fun way, so I ended up ripping out the whole thing and starting over, alternating balls the second time around. It’s considerably less blotchy now.

So, all is good, right?

Um, no. Not so much. Now the gauge looks a bit looser than I’d like, so I’m probably going to rip it out yet again and use size 2s.

Oh, well. At least I’ve cast on for this, right? Which means that I’ve officially completed all the goals I made a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if that’s ever going to happen again…
